small kid big kids

Yesterday I felt like a crazy school kid again! A sense of silliness, fun, craziness, walking around eating and doing anything I like! Ha ha, we went to the Perth Royal Show and while bringing JD along, we had the 'bestest' fun of all! It was a perfect sunny day, first up hopping onto the train from the city and then to the showground by 10am! JD loves train and he was almost jumping out of his skin when he saw the real thing! We got to the showground in no time, and there we were, with thousands of other people, seeing people on crazy rides, testing out skills at a few games, watching the marching band, sampling produce, eating fresh corn on the cob, potato spuds, fresh lemonades, fruits, patting animals, chasing ducklings, showbags....

After the show, we got back to the city again where I did a bit of shopping for myself...girlie stuff...lippy, new cleanser, perfume....and then it was off to Freo for a dinner.

I was knackered by the time we got home! What a fun day we had!

cooking with JD

Once in a while, I would sneak into my study to do a bit of web surfing or update my blog while hub and JD play together in the living room.

While in my room then, I overheard this little conversation between JD and hubby.

JD: Daddy, doh doh!
Daddy: What? What dohdoh?
JD: Daddy, dohdoh!
Daddy: Ok, wait, I go ask your mommy
Hub: Hon, what's dohdoh?
Me: Oh, playdoh!

The following conversation from JD followed after getting his playdoh from the shelf:

JD: I cook
(Sound of JD opening up the pantry and going through all the pots again)
JD: Cooking, yummmm!
JD: Look, ice cream (sounded more like icream)
JD: Daddy, want some?
Daddy: Eeeee, no I don't want to eat your playdoh
JD: Is nice!

And without any success of getting daddy to sample his "cooking", little JD came looking for me

JD: Mommy, want some?
Me: Yes please, yum!
JD: Thank you (sounded more like tank u)

I love the imagination of kids. By the way, JD's ice cream was a block of purple and green playdoh stuck on a fork...ummm, yummy!

TGIF

Friday always feel good and feels even better when there is a long weekend around the corner, ha ha! This is the Royal Show Weekend, and the Footy Grand Final!

Today is also my dad's birthday, happy birthday pa! My dad is funny sort of guy, he was always strict with us when we were kids, but love us to bits! And he is also a real doting grandfather! My dad loves JD to bits too and his greatest joy was seeing JD back in March when we went back for a holiday. My dad has a longan tree in the front yard, and each day JD would go to my dad's longan tree, pluck the fruits, walk back and ask my dad to peel it for him, ha ha, so cute!

Hub has gone out with his mates tonight, so me and JD had pasta bolognaise for dinner. I really wanted to bring JD out for dinner, but laziness got the better of me, hee hee! So, there we were, sitting at JD's table, enjoying a bowl of pasta each, followed with some watermelons and watching the lead up to the footy grand final!

And before bed, I managed to teach JD a few words in chinese
Wai gong - Grandpa
Wai Po - Grandma
Jie Jie - Sister
Di Di - Brother
Mei mei - Little sister
Yi Yi - Aunty

Once I put the little devil to bed, I did the housework for the first time in 3 weeks, hee hee hee! I gave the kicten a good clean, dusted the furnitures, vacumm, mop the floor, did the washing....and now I am off to bed, zzzzzzz

me and the bus

There is something very wrong between me and my very diligent and faithful driver - the good old Transperth bus!

My story goes:

Friday 16th Sep - Bus was 45 mins late then got stuck on the freeway for an hour due to an accident, got into work at 10am and was 30mins late for a meeting.

After the weekend

Tuesday - Bus late again, coz the driver never showed up. Finally got on the bus but the bus tyre went flat half way into the city! Late to work again! Great!

Tuesday after work - Was already late leaving work and had to go pick JD up from daycare. Guess what, the bus broke down before it left the busport!

This is starting to become funny, 3 incidents with buses in 3 working days....and while I thought my fiasco with my Transperth driver is over...

I drove up to Murdoch P n R this morning only to find out they have close a big section of the carpark off! Great, I ended up parking illegally on the kerb!

This has to be the funniest thing that has happened to me in a long long time...but I am still going to catch the bus coz I am too lazy to drive into the city and spend $11 on parking everyday!

yummy dinner

Tonight I made JD one of his favourites - Wonton Soup! He loves the wonton skin particularly, and being a little person, he could easily finish up at least 8 fat little wontons! We served it with Kai Lan and he was also happily chewing away bits n pieces of the vege. JD has always been a good eater since he was born. Lately, he is becoming more and more independent at meals time and always respond with a real polite "Thank you" each time I put the dinner on his table. Tonight, after taking a sip of his wonton soup, he said "ummm, yum!". Ha ha, that moment was priceless!

wiggly concert

We brought JD for his very 1st Wiggles concert today! This little man loves the Wiggles and he can do the dance moves from every single Wiggles music track...and we must all have his fair share of Wiggles everyday! We listen to the Wiggles once a day and sometimes I can't get the Wiggles songs out of my head. I think Wiggles are a great thing for kids, but not so good when I have Wiggles songs going "Fruit salad, yummy yummy" or "Hot potato hot potato" ringing in my head all day while I work!

JD had a great time and he was riding on his daddy's shoulder clapping, bobbing up and down, singing throughout the 1 hr concert! Good on ya daddy! 100% for your dedication! Ha ha!

foodie random thoughts

Lately I have been thinking a lot, and I mean a REAL lot about food. I am always thinking about what I could eat, devoured into, checking out food related sites, day dreaming about seafood, chilli crabs, Peking duck (this has been an ongoing craving for 3 weeks), cakes...anything you name it, I just feel I could eat the whole lot! BTW, it is not the "P" syndrome in case if you are wondering.

And today, I have thinking a lot about sausage rolls! I don't know why, I don't get it either, but I keep having the whole picture of it in my head. This little voice kept saying to me "Eat me, eat me!!!!" Honestly, it is hardly the kind of thing I eat on a normal basis, but my whole desire for sausage rolls was almost unthinkable!

So, what is so damn good about sausage rolls?
- because it is so heavenly delicious
- because it makes your tummy happy
- because it has got beef and is good source of iron
- because it has some onions n carrots and veges are good for you
- because Wed is hump day and I need a "pick me up"

Of course, none of the reasons above are good enough for a sausage roll...and after a full day of sausage roll thoughts, I am still going on about sausage rolls! I think I need to get a life, wahahahaha!

grumble grumble grumble

What is about some senior execs that love to get paid for driving people insane? Why are some of them so shockingly disorganised and panicky?

Just the other day, a director came and said "I need this stuff, it is urgent, it is for a good business prospect, I need it by COB Friday". Great, it is Wed lunch time, COB Friday is no problemo, I can deliver it. But that lunatic came back at 4pm the same day, and said "You know what, your deadline has been brought forward to COB today"! What the!!!!! Now, this makes me very mad!

Hey freak, listen up, so what, you want me to drop everything for you right now! It isn't my problem if you haven't be organized with your own project, you should have thought about more clearly what and when you have wanted! I have a life too you know, I have a kid to pick up from daycare in an hour, a home to go back to, dinner to prepare, a hubby to go home to...and now I need to stay back because you just realised you need this stuff today! Get out of here, you are a director that gets paid shit loads of money, so get organised! And if you aren't, for goodness sake, learn to do so!

Then another very panicky director came along, stomping along the office floor.. "Now can you tell me if this is correct? Why is this so? I need you to confirm this figures for me"...Slammed his door, one sec later, stomped across the office floor "I don't get this, why is this so, there must be an error"...bla bla bla bla bla bla

Now, all you big heads out there....listen up!

First of all, calm down, take a deep breath and bugger off! Don't stress your people out simply because you were panicking! We can handle things a lot better if you just give us a chance to breathe, to pee, to eat! Slow down, stop running around like a headless chook! It's a recipe for disaster! Give us space, back off, shut up, listen to us, trust us....and most of all, give us a bit of space to do the job before u jump around like a headless chook! It isn't a good look, so stop making a fool of yourself!

Get it!!!!!

Feel better now, yes!

my life in bullets ...

Ok, I have slacked off a bit lately, so here's my update in points:
  • Did a spring clean of my wardrobe on Sunday, rearrange everything, iron all of hubby's business shirts enough to last for a month
  • Organise JD's drawers, iron all his shirts, pants, and all arranged neatly..(well, let's see how long this will last)
  • Got down on all four to wash the bathroom, gave it a good old sparkling scrub
  • Had a big pig out session of Chilli Mussels on Sunday night, slurp, slurp, yummy, yummy
  • Got up for a jog at 6 on Monday morning, and felt super duper fit for rest of the day
  • Must have slept through the alarm clock on Tue morning, missed my Pump class, damn!
  • Went to the gym at 6am again this morning, did the Pump class. Good fat burning session!
  • Only had coffee once so far this week....
  • On a pineapple craze....
  • JD roaming around the house in his little trike, recipe for disaster!
  • Work is busy, with lots of interesting stuff to do...
  • And JD attacked the biscuit jar, doh!

Life is good! We r all happy!
