Day out on the green

After the morning walk, we came home and let Chloe enjoyed the morning sun in the garden.

Hallelujah!

For a while now, before tucking JD in at night, we will hold hands and say a little prayer.

It goes something like this "Thank you Jesus for the day, for my daddy, mommy and for all goodness in life".

Lately I thought of getting him to come up with his own little prayer.

And here's what he gave thanks for recently...

Thank you Jesus
... for the day
... for my daddy, mommy and baby

But here's a funny but a very sweet one
... for my Aunty Wendy
... for Aunty Wendy's hair
... for Aunty Wendy's nose
... for Aunty Wendy's ear
... for Aunty Wendy's eyes

And then he repeated the whole prayer for his Wai Po, for his carers Andrea and Suzanne from his daycare

Thank you Jesus, AMEN!

About the boy today

The last 4 weeks have been great, with my big sista W and my mom here to give us a hand and playing babysitters to both JD and Chloe. It was great having both of you around, thank u! We have enjoyed your company and JD especially is missing his Wai Po and Aunty W.

JD asked me where Wai Po was this morning and before I could give him an answer, he was very smart to have found his Wai Po here ! He ran into my room in excitement shouting "I found Wai Po, I found Wai Po".

We spent the rest of the day potting around at home and due to seeing us wrapping Chloe like a 'sausage' when she sleeps, he also imitated by doing the same to his teddy too.

I found him especially helpful and understanding today. He saw me nursing Chloe this morning and went into the kitchen to give me my water bottle so that I could have a drink. At night whilst he wanted me to build blocks with him, he was understanding enough to let me finish off my dinner and quietly play by himself till I was done. And not only that, once again he went into the kitchen again to get my water bottle for me to have a drink when he saw I have finished my dinner. Sweet little boy!

And he loves his sister.

And the red house he built. He loves red! It's funny to see how he always pick out the red colour blocks first.

My delicious dinner

Tonight whilst hubby had scotch fillet steak, I was craving more for fish. Here's my delicious pan fried emperior fillets with a creamy parsley sauce. Delish!

Missing u already....

Chloe and JD both said "Missing u already" to their Wai Po. JD opened up the special packet of jelly lollies from waipo and stick to his promise of just eating 2 and keeping the rest for later. Chloe enjoyed her car ride home and is now sound alseep....

And Wai Po make me look pretty this morning. See the little flower on the side, hee!

Gold Star

Some people have beer gut, but my mommy and Wai Po thinks I have got milk gut! Ummm, all the milk is making my belly nice and round. I had my check up yesterday and my doc was totally smitten with me coz I gave him a wink, hee! By the way I think my doc looks like Tom Selleck and ehem, my mommy nearly fell off her chair when she first met him. My doc gave my mommy a gold star because I am growing well. I have grown by 5cm and put on 1.2kg in 6 weeks!

But I thought a bit of baby yoga might also do me good. Afterall, I am a girl, and needs to still keep my figure in check, hee.

Chloe is a funny girl. She is really afraid of the cold, and we have to wrap her up like tightly when she sleeps or when she comes out of her bath. Here's a shot of her after having the evening bath.

Double take

Chloe finds the mirror image of herself fascinating. I caught her with a little smile in the reflection.

Fashion wannabe

I am not sure if it's just JD or most kids of his age, but he seems to have very little concern for the cold. Whilst it could be hail storm, gusty wind, rain bucketing down outside enough to freeze one's butt off, he still insists of running around in his summer clothes. My latest headache with JD each day is about what he gets to wear, from the shirt he wants down to which jocks or socks he actually prefers. Whether his jocks has a picture of a spider or whether there is a monster on his socks!

The other night after his shower, he insisted on putting on his summer clothes instead of his long sleeve PJ. I tried to talk him out of it and even threaten him that the fashion police will come and catch him. Sigh, that didn't work and see what we ended up getting!

Who knows, that might end up in some Paris Inc latest fashion, NOT!

Getting better...

For a while, my mommy thought I was never going to like my bath. But I am getting better each day and I am now liking it! The only thing is still don't particularly coming out of my bath...got to still work on that.

Gotcha

Caught JD in the act...digging out the sand from the roses garden bed.

Eh, JD you got "bulan sabit" leh

Just chilling out

Whilst JD busy himself with the painting on his face, his lil sister was just happy to lie on the floor watching him. For a record so far, I have been able to leave her lying there for 30 mins whilst I catch up on some of the latest blogs! And she didn't even cry! Cool! The thing is Chloe is so girly one, love lots of cuddles and she loves it even more when we hold her tightly!

Red Indian

JD wanted me to paint a lion face, but I think he ended up looking more like a little red Indian. And after we painted on the face, he rushed off to find Wai Po and let out a big "roar"as she turned around.

Chef JD

I asked him what he was wearing on his head. He told me it was a cooking hat!? Of some of his favourite toys, masak-masak never fails to entertain him with hours of fun.

Brotherly Lurve

Red Eggs n More

It was Chloe's full moth yesterday and keeping with tradition, we had red eggs, roast pork and loh mai fun! I had my dear Sister W helping me this time and I even Google search to look for the best method to dye red eggs. I kinda stuffed it up when I did the red eggs for JD 3 years ago as the colors didn't really stick. This time round, we added a bit of vinegar and more colourings and haha, it worked!

I have difficulty posting pic of the yummy full month food, but you can still see it here

Chloe was a lil darling, sleeping in by 3 hrs in the morning, thus allowing me to do all the prep in the kitchen and keeping JD entertained at the same time! Oh and not forgetting JD gobbled down a bowl of loh mai fun when I wasn't looking. Hub took on the challenge of delivering the food despite the rain and wet road. At night, Aunty W treated us to a nice little dinner of lobster, steamed tooth fish, noodle and finished up with a yummy serve of Gelare ice cream.

Wink! Wink!

I am surviving! JUST!

Honestly, lately I am lacking a bit of "inspirasi" of what to blog about. Between the every 3 hourly feeds, settling an upset newborn when she needs to do the "big business", getting my almost 3yo toddler ready for daycare in the morning, getting to places on time (NOT!!!!), cooking dinner by 3pm each day, doing the groceries shopping and the laundry... everything is to be done at a certain time when either one child is taking a nap and the other one not calling out for attention or one not due for a feed while the other one is happily entertaining himself.

4 weeks on with a newborn and a toddler in the house, my greatest challenge have been

- Getting JD both kids ready in the morning and getting JD to daycare on time
- Dragging myself out of bed by 6am (NOT FAIR!!!), showered, and have my breaky before both kids are up
- Bathed both kids, cooked dinner, picked JD up all by 5pm
- Making sure JD still sticks to his 8pm bedtime curfew

And stopping myself from hitting my hubby when he is snoring away in his slumberland whilst I stumbled my way through the dark at night to the cry of a newborn.

Some days are fun, some days are evil, some days I just want to sit down and eat a whole block of chocolate all by myself...

About the kids, JD is coping better everyday with a new baby. He loves his sister but could over smother her with kisses n hugs. No ill intention though as you can see!

As for the lil missy, she is growing by day and JD's teacher said she is a little piggy, hee! I noticed her hair is getting a bit thicker and lets' hope it stays that way. She still loves sleeping being wrapped like a sausage, and being tucked in nice and warm near the heater. She's like me, loves her sleep and dislikes the cold. The only thing though, she is still not liking her bath, sigh!

Musings of a 3 wk old

Hey everyone, I am 3 weeks old today! So far, I think I have been a good girl, keeping my mommy relatively sane. I think my mommy is doing fine, coz my Aunty W has arrived to give her a hand when she is busy with my brother, doing the dishes, putting out the laundry, entertaining my brother but most of all holding me when I am upset : ) Life is pretty good for me at the moment, I sleep, eat, poo, and when I am awake, I enjoy looking around me and watching my brother performing his monkey tricks in the house.

The only thing I don't enjoy is when my brother pulls off my blanket when I am sound asleep, but I would get him back one day. And I don't like it when my mommy drinks orange juice coz that upsets my tummy.

I like looking around when I have had a good sleep...

And sometimes just chilling out on the couch...

Or posing for the camera

But I get horribly upset when I am HUNGRY!!!!! I want a feed now!!!

JD's Favourites

In the last week or so, I started noticing JD drawings and him telling us what it represents. While picking him up from daycare yesterday, his carer - Andrea explained to me what JD drew during the day and telling me the most important things in his life at the moment.

And the most important person in his life at the moment is DADDY and the most important thing in his life is the FRIDGE, i.e. FOOD!

So, how do we tell Daddy and the fridge are most important? Well because daddy and fridge occupied most part of the paper and he actually drew a line in the middle to separate daddy, fridge and the others : ) Smart, isn't it! I am a proud soon to be 3 yo toddler's mom!
